Mason jar Christmas gifts

These little mason jar Sugar Cookie Mix Kits are a wonderful and inexpensive idea for neighbors, friends, family, or even teachers.

Supplies you will need:

1. Quart size Mason Jar

2. Drying up cloth (red and white)

3. Red and White Bakers Twine

4. 3/4 inch Cotton Ribbon

5. Sugar Cookie Mix information - see below

6. Christmas Cookie Sprinkles - to go in the light bulb jars or some other container of your choose.

The Dry ingredients for the Sugar Cookie mix that will fill the mason jar below. This recipe is for one mason jar so you will need to increase the amounts based on how many gifts you plan on making.

Sugar Cookie Dry Mix Recipe

1 cup sugar

2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix together and pour into quart sized mason jar.

Copy and paste the instructions below and add to your present.

Sugar Cookie Mix

Add

½ a cup of softened unsalted butter

( 1/4 lb (4 oz) / 115 g)

1 egg

½ a teaspoon vanilla extract

½ a cup of sour cream

( 2 tablespoons / 28 grams )

Mix all the ingredients together and roll out to

quarter of an inch thickness. Chill dough for about

1 hour before using cookie cutters to cut out shapes.

if you wish, add sprinkles to one side of the shaped dough before you put them in the oven

Bake at 350 f 180 C. mark # 4 for 10 to 12 minutes do not overcook.
