All the recipes featured this week for special diets look very nice and would be wonderful for any one at Christmas - take a look.

I started this week with a clear idea for low calorie Christmas, but while I have been putting it together I realised that maybe a quick look at the basics for Gluten Free, Diabetic, Vegetarian, and nut-free diets would be an idea. So with the help of BBC goodfood, the first 3 days of this week will be all about trying to keep those calories down, good luck with that then...and a very big well done to any one that manages it. and then focusing on the other 3, each day.

SO FOR THOSE THAT ARE COUNTING THE CALORIES - THIS IS YOUR CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH.

ONLY KIDDING, I AM SURE I CAN FIND YOU SOMETHING MUCH NICER TO EAT !!!

May be that looks a bit better, shall we get started then, I hope you enjoy the recipes for the coming week.

Joking aside, If you are really serious about a low calorie Christmas lunch, my advice would be to have steamed Brussels sprout, asparagus, green beans, red cabbage. you will save a lot of calories. no stuffing, or sweet little sausages wrapped in bacon, bread sauce etc. You can still have a very nice lunch with a low calorie starter then turkey, roast potato and streamed vegetable to follow. delicious.

I hope that the recipes I have come up with for Gluten Free, Vegetarian, and nut-free diets are helpful to those of you on special diets and my apologies to anyone that has other dietary requirements that I have not covered.
